In case you missed our first message, we're thrilled to let you know that the Ranked Choice Voting Local Options bill, HF 983, has its first hearing this coming WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 5:30 pm!
The location has changed! We will be in Room 400 S, State Office Building. This room is right across from the elevators.
We need you to join us!
ATTEND THE HEARING: This Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 for the first hearing of the bill before the House Elections Subcommittee! Let’s fill the room to show the committee how important this bill is to Minnesotans! We’ll be there at 4:30—come early to grab a t-shirt and a sign! RSVP
CONTACT COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Take just a few minutes now to contact the committee members and urge them to support this local control bill! Let them know that:
- This measure merely gives local jurisdictions the freedom to decide for themselves the kind of elections that work best for them. It affects no jurisdiction that is not interested in RCV.
- If they believe RCV will provide them with cost efficiencies, more voter participation and more accountable local leaders, they shouldn’t have to come to the Legislature to ask permission.
- The bill provides guidelines for jurisdictions that decide RCV is best for them.
